End of Preschool

C's last day of preschool was the same week as my birthday back in May. He had a closing program on the last day where the class sang some of their favorite songs, and even put on a little play of The Three Little Pigs. C was thrilled to be able to play the Big Bad Wolf. Its funny, I don't really know why, but he seems to be the biggest ham in the class. He loves to sing and knew the words to all of the songs. He has done so well in school the last year. He is really looking forward to starting Kindergarten next year where he will be able to learn even more.

Here is a video of the kids singing "Z is for Zelda" Its a little long, but well worth a laugh or two.

Birthday

Also in May, I had a birthday. It was not one that I was particularly looking forward to, as I turned 29 "again." But, Drew and the kids made it extra special for me. I got some really nice gifts, including a Nike Plus Sensor (for your shoes and running) and a bike. I haven't had a bike since I was a teenager. I am really excited to be able to go on bike rides as a family. Now if I could just find a trailer or baby carrier. We went out to eat at one of my new favorite restaurants, Texas Roadhouse. And the we came home for Key Lime Pie, yum!

Father/Son Campout

Drew and C had the chance to go to the Stake Father/Son Campout back in May. They got to the field about 5:30, set up camp and started cooking. There were about 100 people there. The guy who owns the property had a HUGE bonfire set up and so they lit that. We did the obligatory Smores. At about 10:00, as things were winding down, we learned that there was a tornado warning for our area. We debated about whether to stay or not, but decided to go ahead and tear down camp and come home. C was okay with that since all of the “fun stuff” was done and all that was left was sleeping. It is always a priceless opportunity to spend one-on-one time with the kids and kid to really know -who they are and what they are thinking about.

Spring Soccer

K played soccer this spring at the YMCA. She had the best time. She loved having Daddy as her coach. And she even kicked the ball several times during each game. This year they decided to have goalies for the 3 and 4 year olds. I think this was one of K's favorite things. She would beg every quarter to play goalie. That, and the snacks. Don't they just play for the snacks at that age anyway?

Catching Up

I know it has been a really long time since I have done any blogging. So, fair warning: I am going to try to catch up. I have a really long list of things to blog about, and I don't not want to.... so, be prepared for an overload.
