Zoo

We went to the zoo finally! I have never taken my kids to the zoo. Now, don't get me wrong, if you have been reading this blog for any length of time, you will know that they are not deprived of fun and wonderful experiences (Busch Gardens, Disney World, the beach, etc.). But, we had never been to the zoo. Friday before the 4th of July, we went to the Columbus zoo. I was really looking forward to seeing the animals, as were the kids. I was a little disappointed that a lot of the animals were more on the exotic side than the normal side. There were no hippos or giraffes, but we did get to see bats, and lots of snakes. C said his favorite thing at the zoo was the petting zoo. (they had goats that you could pet, feed, comb their hair, walk around with, etc) K's favorite thing was the monkeys. That is her favorite animal and there were a lot of different types of them there. Drew enjoyed the monkeys with the painted faces as well as the tiger. I liked the baby elephant and the bats (I have never seen a bat in real life) They were asleep and really looked almost fake. Kinda cool.

Both kids insisted on a picture with the orangutan statue.
This one is for you Nonnie, yes those are flamingos. Lots of them!
