Washington DC

Last week Drew had a meeting up in Washington DC. So, we all decided to go and take advantage of being able to spend some time in our nations capital. The kids and I did a lot of walking in the morning and early afternoon and when Drew was done with his meeting he met us and we finished looking at the sights. It was a very long day, but well worth. The pictures are from our trip. Yes, we were just like all of the other tourists there taking pictures, but we had a great time, and I think the kids will remember it for a long time to come. I know I will.

K and I in front of the white house. This is as close as you can get in real life.
K on the steps of the Capitol Building looking toward the Washington Monument.

C and K decided to make funny faces on the Capitol steps. We rode the Carousel in the middle of the mall. The kids insisted on sitting in the cup, so we did.
All of us in front of the Washington Monument.
C on the steps of the Licoln Memorial. He's holding up the Washington Monument. I can't believe how strong he's getting!
C and Drew in front of the White house. C was so tired at this point we had walked about 5 miles and still had about another one or two to go to get back to the car. He was such a trooper with all of the walking we did that day.

I'm glad you got to visit DC. I loved being that close to the capital when we were in MD. If it wasn't for all the people and the traffic I would move back in a heartbeat (if the AF would let us) I love history and it sooooo full of it. We were there 4 years and didn't get to see a fraction of the possibilities. Glad you are all having fun.
